Review of King George’s - Accident & Emergency

The doctors were amazing. Dr Ayo and the other consultants were amazing.

Suggested improvements
A shorter wait at the emergency would be great.

Nurse Trudie was good but The other nurses and doctors did not introduce themselves or their roles and communication was poor and lacking and actually we waited a long time for anyone to attend to the patient. Also the scrub colours did not designate any role or position and that causes confusion

Suggested improvements
See above Communication skills are vital We have just scrolled ahead and have been invited to comment on four doctors but can you see the irony? We don’t know who they are or what their roles were because they never introduced themselves to us.

Took far too long just to be told in 60 Seconds that there was nothing wrong.

Suggested improvements
Doctor could have advised all was OK, instead of making me wait 12 hours.

Extremely poor service! I was in agony and was made to wait 4 hour before finally being given medication!! Eventually I was told it’s going to be 10-12 hours wait before a doc can see me.

We waited for a long time - from 2000 hrs. up to the 0800 hrs. - but had results - an MRI was done then we were discharged after 1300 hrs. It was a long journey but we had been looked after very well. We noticed there were lack of doctors hence the longer wait to see patients. The service is good but might benefit more if there were more doctors or practitioners who can see patients to shorten the waiting time for patients to be seen.

Suggested improvements
More doctors please

10 hours in A&E no one communicated with me inspite of repeated enquiries by me to know what was going on! It was a terrible service, and no respect or dignity for patient at all!!!

Suggested improvements
There were hardly any doctors through the night in A&E! Hens the 10 hours Waite! Nurses were not compassionate and treated me as I was not there!! No respect at all from all the staff!!

In the main A&E section, the nurse who checked my blood pressure etc was rude and abrupt. She treated me like an animal. I then was moved to the emergency A&E department for a fast heart rate. A member of staff called Renato was rude and abrupt too. Dr Ahmed was very nice and gave me a more positive experience. The nurses forgot to hook me up to the IV drip after my CT scan which made me stay there even longer. The wait times were very long and everything seemed disorganised.

Suggested improvements
- kinder nurses who treat people with dignity and don’t loudly talk about other patients. - obviously wait time is an issue
